Gift of the State of Israel to US President Donald Trump.In 2017 , United States President Donald Trump announced his country’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s first visit to Washington by after this declaration, the artist was asked to create a gift of appreciation for the president suitable appropriate to this meeting and historic declaration. The gift is a stone from the hills of Jerusalem engraved with both parts of Trump’s declaration and parts of the Edict of Cyrus issued in 538 BCE, which announced that Judean exiles would return to Jerusalem. The edict is quoted from the Book of Ezra.
